Betty's Story

15 September 2016 Published in News & Events

*Betty is a single mother of two daughters. Each morning, the girls get up at 4 am to help their mother with a paper route that provides the family’s only income. The girls dread the winter months as the freezing wind whips at their legs traveling from house to house. Betty was unaware that CCS had a program that could help with coats for the kids until she came into the office for other assistance. Each girl received a pair of snow pants, gloves and a coat. Betty was moved to tears as she was unsure how she was going to buy coats for her kids this winter. One of the girls was so excited that her pants were actually snowboarding pants and said that now she would be able to go with her school on an outing to the slopes this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteers and donates to our programs, you are truly making a difference in the lives of many.
