Tabatha's Story

16 September 2015 Published in News & Events

Tabatha is a young mother with a baby that has a major medical issue. When the father of the baby walked out, she was left with no money, food or supplies for her young son. Her family had been able to help pay her rent, but that was all they could do without causing their own hardships. Coming to get assistance from our Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank was something that was totally out of Tabatha’s comfort zone, but she didn’t have any other options. While signing up for a food card, CCS was able to help her apply for food stamps, make an appointment with DWS for employment counseling, apply for public housing and apply for WIC. Tabatha left CCS with food, diapers, formula and a feeling of hope for her future.
