CCS COVID-19 Response

Catholic Community Services of Utah has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and has made some adjustments to our operations to protect our community. First and foremost be assured that the health and safety of our staff, clients and volunteers are our top priorities. We have put procedures in place at each of our sites that will help to combat the spread of COVID-19, and we will continue to change and add to those as the situation evolves. These procedures will ensure that our services will continue uninterrupted. We understand that the COVID-19 virus and the resulting business closures are greatly affecting many Utah families. We want to assure you that our basic needs services remain operational and encourage anyone who is in need to reach out. 

President Trump has declared a national state of emergency. As a result, except for basic needs, services at CCS have been suspended at each location. As of today, Monday, March 16, 2020, Catholic Community Services of Utah will close our administration office for 14 days. All volunteering opportunities, orientations, and trainings are suspended. Our administration and Migration and Refugee Services staff will work from home as much as possible to ensure a continuation of services. Our Saint Vincent de Paul Dining Hall, Weigand Homeless Resource Center, Gail Miller Resource Center, and Joyce Hansen Hall Food Pantry will all remain open and operational with minimum staff and limited services. All basic needs services such as food, water, and shelter will continue.

Now is the time for Utah to come together in spirit and mind to take care of one another. Many are in need and feel they have no place to turn. We will be that place. Stand with us.
